The Flyers picked up a much-needed victory last night by defeating the Quebec Nordiques via forfeit. The first road game of the season against Quebec, the Flyers arrived deep in French territory without anyone to play, but left with a win.
Admittedly, several players were disappointed despite the easy victory. Zac Rinaldo had practiced hitting players from behind all week while Vincent Lecavalier planned to show the fans how quickly a player’s skills can diminish. Sans opponent, the Flyers traveled north for nothing and guzzled lots of gas which will surely help destroy the ozone layer further.
But hey, a win is a win.
The Flyers resume action tomorrow night when they host the San Francisco Seals. A win will put the Flyers only one point behind the Hartford Whalers for a playoff spot.
