Flyers’ captain Claude Giroux suffered a devastating injury in last night’s 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. He was immediately rushed to the hospital two hours later where he learned just how unaffordable Obamacare is.
To receive care, Giroux had to co-pay $850 plus another $25 for parking at the hospital. To speak with a doctor it was another $225. To speak with a doctor that spoke clear English it was $389 plus additional hidden fees.
Closing in on the salary cap and unable to afford good healthcare, the Flyers instead treated Giroux in the team’s locker room with a combination of herbal remedies and WebMD’s symptom’s checker. It was ruled that Giroux had suffered a cut and may have colon cancer.
The Flyers are hopeful Giroux will return to the lineup quickly as his departure from the team could mean more ice time for Vincent Lecavalier.
