In Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, the Eagles lost one of their best defensive players when linebacker DeMeco Ryans went down with an injury. According to reports and some girl who sits behind me in math class, Ryans suffered a torn Achilles tendon.
The injury occurred after Ryans made an interception. Looking to ham it up, he decided to do his best impression of Phillies’ first baseman Ryan Howard. The impression however went too far and Ryans ended up with a torn Achilles tendon himself which immediately ends his 2014 season.
Many people in the Philadelphia Area are beginning to question if having the name “Ryan” is a curse on the most fragile and Greek of tendons in our bodies. Certainly the coincidence is something to acknowledge. To take extra precaution, the Flyers have decided to waive forward Meg Ryan despite the former actress leading the team in goals. Upon hearing the news, she made a cute button-nosed face to display how angry she was.
Replacing Ryans will hopefully be anyone except for Casey Matthews.
